Brandywine
Rich, complex, sweet-tart — the benchmark flavor tomato
The gold standard of heirloom tomatoes. Brandywine has been grown continuously by Amish farmers in Pennsylvania since at least 1885. The flavor is extraordinary — complex, rich, sweet with a perfect acid balance — but it demands patience: 85–100 days to maturity, indeterminate growth that needs aggressive support, and fruits so large they can crack in heavy rain.
Requires deep staking or caging. Sensitive to blossom end rot — consistent watering essential. Potato-leaf foliage is distinctive. Worth every bit of attention it demands.
Why This Plant Is Here
